Bank of Scotland Card Offers

Bank of Scotland branches in England operate under the Halifax brand name. In 2001, a merger between the former Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland led to the creation of a new group named Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS). The group had its headquarters in Edinburgh, but retained both Halifax and Bank of Scotland as brand names representing its branches throughout the United Kingdom. Halifax branches in Scotland were renamed to Bank of Scotland while Bank of Scotland branches in England were renamed to Halifax. The Bank of Scotland brand name was retained for business banking purposes even in Halifax locations. HBOS was acquired by the Lloyds Banking Group in January 2009 to become a wholly owned subsidiary of the group. Under new ownership, Halifax Bank of Scotland continues to provide commercial and retail banking services to clients in the UK. The bank offers a range of credit cards under distinctive brand names of Halifax or the Bank of Scotland.
